Our trip to Utah
These are mostly photos of Brent's parents 50th Anniv. party. It was held at a friend's house, and we had an amazing time. We had fun seeing all of our family (every single child, grandchild and great grandchild was there!!) and eating tons of good food. Popsie and Nannie had a great day with all of their family! I can't figure out a way to post who these pictures are of, but they are all family!!! The 3 gorgeous girls at the top are Clarissa and Miranda Savage (Brent's sister Tammy's girls) and Jordan (cousins), next is Joe Hall (Brent's brother). Jakes calls him "Uncle Joke", great granddaughter Abbi Hall (Uncle Joke's granddaughter!), in pink is Ric and Jen Keele (Brent's sister and husband) and down on the bottom with Jordan is cousin Micah (Brent's sister Mellanie's son). The rest you should recognize!!!

Still Learning New Things

Jordan's done a fabulous job at updating, but I decided it's my turn this time! I am just in a writing mood I guess!
No matter how old we get, it is still possible to learn something new - every day! I love this aspect of life! It's amazing all of the things there are to learn on this earth. Now, I cannot say I wake up eager to learn every day, but it just happens!
Here are some things that I have learned lately:
1. That taking care of a parent is not as easy as I thought it would be. It's not as tough physically as it is emotionally. Just try taking keys away from someone who feels like it is still safe for them to drive...so hard.
2. That I have a pretty awesome husband. There are days...I'll tell ya that he drives me bananas, but he is always there for me. He does all of the hard stuff around here, all the things I don't want to do, or don't feel like finishing, and he does it. He is such a big help with my mom and never complains. He just supports me, and that's what I need most.
3. That I STILL LOVE having young adults in my home. It is Jordan's turn to fill the house with friends now, and she is doing a great job. We have had so much fun meeting new people and getting to know the old group even better. They are really an amazing group of kids, and I never have to worry when she is with them, whether they are here or somewhere else. I am really beginning to get attached to them. It is such a fun time in her life right now. The picture above is not all of the group, in fact some of my favorites are missing from the picture, but that's the biggest group one I could find!
4. That you should NEVER put off something you want to do with your family, friends and loved ones. I've stopped making excuses for why I should do things later (when I have more time, more money, less stress, etc.). And I don't feel guilty either. It's so much fun!!! And, in my book, there is always a reason to celebrate SOMETHING!!! We are here that we may have JOY after all!!!
5. That happiness is a state of mind. If you wait for your circumstances to change to be happy, you might as well pack a lunch...it might take awhile for all of the stars to align in your favor! Just try and have a good attitude about the bad days, they too will pass, and tomorrow might just be the day you have been waiting for!!!
So, this week, make me a promise...take time to smell the roses in YOUR life! I promise you I will keep trying!!!!
