Well, she did it! I am so proud of my mom for the very big decision she has made to come and be here with us in Texas! At least for now, she is here in our home getting her own little room all set up and comfy cozy. We are SO glad to have her here. As some of you know, she has COPD and we have been trying hard to convince her for awhile now to come here and let us spoil her. It is probably the bravest thing that she has ever done, and I love her for it. No more going to bed at night or waking up alone. No more trying to get to the store when you just don't feel like going out. No more trying to navigate those stairs in her condo! And no more daily phone calls back and forth to us all the way in Texas. Now she can tell us good morning or good night by just going a few steps.
For those of you back home, here are a few things that she has been up to since she has been here: 3 trips to Wal-Mart (No surprises here right guys!), getting to know Lili and Johnny - her new hospice girls, having long and meaningful (?) conversations with Jake, letting Jordan practice taking blood pressures on her, eating food made by an expert chef (yeah, okay so I'm stretching the truth here a little!), watering flowers, folding clothes, unloading the dishwasher, playing baseball with Jake (isn't she supposed to be taking it easy?) and trying to tolerate Maggie the obnoxious Maltipoo, who loves to sit right by her when ANYONE from the hospice group comes by to visit!
It is really a blessing to us to have her here in so many ways.
WE ALL LOVE YOU GRAMMY!!!!!

What a blessing to have as great a daughter as you, Lisa, who is willing to have her move in with you. They call that the "sandwich generation" who are helping to care for a parent and a child. What a blessing for you all. I hope things go well with it all. (You know I worked in hospice doing P.R./Marketing before Katie was born? Hospice is an amazing service).
Sounds like your mom is keeping busy at your place. What a blessing to have this time with her!!! You are awesome.
