Hall Family Christmas Letter 2008!

Things we enjoyed as a family – We had such a busy, but fun year this year!
Baby Asher Dennis was born on May 3rd to LaChelle and Devin Tidwell, weighing 9 pounds and 2 ounces and was 21 inches long! He is absolutely adorable!!! We all got to be there for it too!
The girls took a cake decorating class together.
Jake turned 2 in June!
Our Arizona cousins joined us for a weekend in Dallas in August. We went to Six Flags, American Girl, and the highlight of the week… the American Idol concert! We had so much fun and even got to go back stage because one of Brent & Lisa’s high school friends is Brooke White’s mom! So we got to meet all the American Idols! Thank you Kaylene and Brooke – we had a blast!!!!!!!!
Our “adopted” son and brother, Reed, married Amber in August in South Carolina.
Grammy (Lisa’s Mom) came to live with us in October. It is so good to have her here with us! She had a tough year health wise and we wanted to have her closer to us. She misses Arizona very much, but she has been trying to adjust to living in the Big D. She thinks the people here are really friendly. She loves to sit out on the front porch and soak up the sun. She cleans all the time (she’s love to do it, we don’t make her!) and loves having Jake nearby. We are all enjoying her homemade soup and love when she is in the kitchen!
We got a new puppy in October. A little Teacup Maltese, we named Cameron. We also still have our Maltepoo, Maggie.
Brent and Lisa celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary in November.

Brent – Brent continues to work and travel for Spire Biomedical and loves his job for the most part. He gets to travel to some neat places and do some neat things. He has been going to California and Washington D.C. quite a bit lately and always sends us fun picture mail. He frequently enjoys riding his mountain bike at the nearby lake, but his favorite thing is playing with his grandsons! He also had the pleasure of attending Reed’s Wedding in August. Brent works in the Nursery at church and loves it!
Lisa – Lisa has been keeping busy as well. She spends lots of time with her Mom and enjoys having her best friend right down the hall. She spent quite a bit of time in Arizona and Utah this year. She was in Utah to help LaChelle before and after the birth of Asher, which she loved! And she was in Arizona for a few months helping to take care of her Mom and getting her ready to come to Texas. Brent and Lisa are the activities coordinators at church and Lisa, as you can imagine, is in her element. She enjoys playing with Jake, who lives here, and misses baby Asher a lot. She usually makes a big Sunday dinner and all of the family who happens to be around comes over for the feast!
LaChelle, Devin, & Asher Tidwell – The Tidwell’s welcomed their new little boy, Asher Dennis Tidwell to the world on May 3rd. He is now almost 8 months old and is such a big boy and doing so well. He says dada, mama, and nana!!! He is so healthy and smiles all the time! LaChelle loves being a mother and is also working part time in a clothing store. Devin works for a waste management company. His job is pretty recession proof and he is blessed to be receiving raises and bonuses aplenty. They enjoy decorating and fixing up their home. They are living in Provo, Utah.

Amber, Kevin, & Jake Roach – The Roach’s are VERY busy chasing a very active two year old. Jake is extremely good at making us laugh! He has a crazy sense of humor and keeps us all in stitches! Amber enjoys spending time with Jake, and she also takes care of a little baby boy during the week. Kevin got her a professional camera for their 3rd anniversary and she studying hard to learn the tricks of the trade. She is very good at it and stays pretty busy! You can see her work at www.amberleighphotography.blogspot.com. Kevin stays busy with Chiropractic school – less than a year and a half to go! Brent especially loves to let him practice on him. Kevin really is a natural at it and it is fun to see him learning the gift of healing. In his spare time (!) he also works a valet parking job. They moved this year to a new place, and are living about 15 minutes away from us.

Jordan – Jordan has been very busy attending college, working, doing things with friends, two church callings, and just being an 18 year old. She stayed busy in high school, mostly with the drill team, by helping out with their Spring Show and many other things. She also went on a Texas road trip with them in March. She received her “Young Womanhood Recognition Award” at church in May, which takes a lot of work- not the least of which is the 70 hours of community service. She enjoyed attending two proms as well! Jordan has such an awesome sense of humor and maintains a very positive attitude. She also enjoys helping her Mom with the family blog. She is very crafty and loves playing with her new Cricut machine. Now that she graduated from high school in June, she is attending Northlake College pursuing a career in Nursing and loving it! She just finished taking Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology, English, and Math. She loves attending her weekly Institute church class as well. Jordan also works at Lifetime Fitness in the Child Care Center. She loves her job of rocking babies, finger painting, watching cartoons, and playing with kids. Her work allows her to get some nice discounts on things like personal training, which she has taken advantage of. Her two church jobs are Choir Child Care Instructor and Relief Society Child Care Director. That’s a lot of Child Care responsibility! She is driving as well and loves the independence of it. In March, Jordan got an answer to her health problems. She was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare connective tissue disorder. She deals with the pain and things very well and is just thankful for an answer. It is not curable, but also not fatal! It’s a chronic painful condition and is not fun, but she’s handling it so well. Lisa and Jordan left for Houston from their month long Arizona trip to be able to go to an Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation Conference where they learned a ton!

Well, I think that about covers it!
We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and have a great 2009!
